Why Gideon?
The story of renewed identity is one we see told time and time again in the Bible. God gives people new names and callings all throughout scripture. We see Abram renamed Abraham, Simon renamed Peter, and Saul renamed Paul to name a few. But one that stands out in particular to us is the story of Gideon in Judges 6-8.

Gideon was a judge and a prophet. At the beginning of this story, the Israelites are under the rule of Midian, an opposing nation. The first time we see Gideon, he’s doing his work of threshing wheat in a winepress, out of the sight of the Midianites. In the midst of Gideon's secrecy, the angel of God shows up and gives Gideon a new identity, saying, “God is with you, mighty warrior.”

Initially, Gideon denies this identity. He believes he’s weak and fearful, as he’s threshing wheat (a job best done out in the open where there’s wind) in an underground winepress. But God is persistent with Gideon, and He won't let Gideon deny who he is.

It takes a while, but eventually, Gideon comes to accept and believe that he is, in fact, a mighty warrior. When he knows this and lives it out, Gideon leads the Israelites to freedom from Midian’s rule.

This is why our logo is wheat and a sword: Gideon went from threshing wheat in secret to leading his people to freedom - all because he knew his identity and his calling.

How does that relate to design?
As a business, your brand is everything. A brand identity that doesn't line up with your mission and goals takes away from your ability to do what you do best. We're here to help align your visual identity with your mission and values.
